What is “Radical Wellness”?

“[A] way of life that is oriented toward optimal collective health and well-being, which consequently feeds individual health and well-being.

[Individuals integrate] critical consciousness into the body, mind and spirit for the purpose of working against inequality and social injustice that is deeply rooted in societal communities.”

Javier F. Casado Pérez, assistant professor of counselor education at Portland State University and a national certified counselor

OK…what the heck does that mean?

To me, Radical Wellness is a way of caring for oneself with the betterment of self and community in mind. Giving back to and nourishing your community is absolutely a form of self-care!
